Yes, this is a goofy picture. But it's a good picture of the belly. I like to think of this as my "super model that is pregnant with twins" face. :) This week we finished up TCAP testing at school. Wow, I'm drained. I'm really needing the weekend to come fast. I am feeling more and more tired at school as the days go by (not to use my blog for whining and complaining) :) Next week is our next ultrasound. I can't wait to see our babies again! As Jessica once said (I think it was Jessica), sometimes I wish I could see inside my belly to make sure they're ok, which would be a little scary but very handy. I just had to put a picture of these on the blog. I found these at Target. Every newborn baby needs a pair of workout pants, right? Now they have something to work out in when they go to the gym with their Daddy. :) Let me just say, Kyle and I have the most awesome friends. We were surprised, well I was surprised, with a baby shower tonight. More details and pictures to come, but I just want to thank Meagan, Samantha, and Holly. You ladies are the best! We had so much fun!
It's Sunday night...already. Why does time go by so fast on the weekends? I find myself staying up too late on Sunday nights because I know that once I go to sleep, Monday will be here. I guess that's kind of silly. This week TCAP starts on Thursday. I'm so glad it's finally here so we can get it over with after weeks and weeks of stressing, reviewing, praying :). The pressure that is put on us as teachers for our students to do well on this test is ridiculous...but I will spare you and stay off my soap box. What a beautiful weekend! Is it bad that I'm just a happier person when it's warm outside? Praise the Lord that winter is gone! Saturday I went to Calista Turner's shower. Bethany did a great job putting it together. It's fun to watch others during this part of their lives. I remember the excitement and anticipation before our wedding, going to wedding showers and getting all the fun kitchen stuff (the only time in my life I was excited to get a crock pot). Saturday night Kyle took me out on a date. It seems like I'm thinking more and more about how these times when we can just go out without getting a babysitter are coming to an end. We have to cherish and appreciate these moments while we still have them. We ate at Cheddar's (yum) and saw a movie. I think that might be the last movie I am going to be able to sit through. I was pretty uncomfortable by the time it was over. Thank goodness for arm rests that move and allow you to stretch out. Friday was 32 weeks. It's funny how it felt like some kind of big accomplishment when I passed 30 weeks. I'm starting to feel a little impatient. :) I'm just ready to meet our babies. I'm ready to know if they are boys or girls. But even though I'm having a hard time being patient, I want them to stay in and grow as long as possible. I guess it's ok to contradict myself and not really make any sense because I'm pregnant, right? I'm going to miss using that excuse.
Saturday Mom and Jessica threw a shower for us. I had so much fun! They worked so hard and everything was perfect, down to the smallest detail. The theme was "Two Peas in a Pod". Jessica made an amazing cake that looked like two baby peas in a pod. She is becoming quite the talented baker/cake decorator. She will definitely have to give me some pointers when our little ones come. :) The food was so yummy, my favorite being the little green mints shaped like peas in pods. They were so cute! Before the shower, Ethan taped Kyle answering several questions about our babies. At the shower, I was asked the same questions and tried to figure out what Kyle's answers would have been. If I answered correctly, I opened a present. If I got the answer wrong, I had to eat a piece of Double Mint gum. I ended up chewing a lot of gum! But I loved the game! It was so much fun! No, we did not find out that we are having a boy and a girl...the picture of the boy and girl baskets was just Mom making her prediction as to what they will be when they are born. :) Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday! It meant so much to have everyone together with me to celebrate. Thank you to Mom and Jessica for working so hard to put together such a wonderful shower. And thank you to Meagan for taking such great pictures! You captured the day beautifully. Checkout Meagan's website and blog, an extremely talented photographer! www.mfisherphotography.com
Our cribs are in! Aren't they beautiful! Ok, yes they're still in the boxes. But we're excited to have them. Can't wait to put them together. Kyle is well on his way to finishing the room. I'm excited to see the finished product. It's going to be beautiful. Yesterday, I didn't have to go to school. I met my friend Meagan for a pedicure (my favorite thing), followed by shopping and lunch. It was such a fun day! And the perfect ending was dinner with the Legels at Miller's Grocery. We have been wanted to take Bryce, and his family of course :), because of the live music on Friday and Saturday nights. We had a wonderful time. Bryce seemed to love watching the guys play, naming all the instruments. We had such a great time. And the food at Miller's.....so yummy. If you've never been, you must try it out. We had a doctor's appointment on Thursday with an ultrasound. Mimi and Popi went with us this time. Our babies are still right on track! One is weighing in at 3lbs. and 10 oz. and the other is 3lbs. and 14 oz. Both were facing my back which meant Mimi and Popi didn't get to see very much. We also noticed that they did not move very much, but the lady who was doing the ultrasound said they are just getting bigger so there won't be as much movement. It's funny to hear her say that, considering I still feel them moving all the time. :) Both babies are still breech, so a scheduled c-section is still in the plans. I think the babies are doing this on purpose to make sure Papa and Grandma from Minnesota can be here when they are born. Clever little rascals. :) Mom and Jessica are throwing us a baby shower today. I'm so excited! I can't wait to celebrate this time with family and friends. Pictures to follow soon!
