The Nursery

Last weekend I went to the Ladies' Conference at Horton Haven. What an amazing time! I came away feeling refreshed and blessed to have spent time with such Godly ladies.
While I was gone, Kyle had made plans to paint the nursery. If you knew how much my husband hates to paint, you would understand how much this meant to me. :) He decided to recruit my Dad, who loves to paint (I guess that's where I get it from). I was so excited and anxious all weekend to come home and see what it looked like. We love the green in our crib set, but that shade of green had a lot of yellow in it, which would not have been good to use for a whole room. So at Home Depot, we picked out a color that was a shade or 2 lighter, hoping for the best when it went up on the wall. And I love it!! I was so excited when I got home. It looks so bright and cheerful. I can't wait to get everything else in the room. It's going to be beautiful!
I will be 30 weeks on Friday. I can't believe it. Time is flying by. I have had the most wonderful, relaxing Spring Break. I'm sad that I only have 2 days left. I've been able to rest, read, and put my feet up. My feet are almost back to their normal
size. :) My next ultrasound is April 1st. I'm excited to see our babies again!

My First Baby Shower

Last week I had my first baby shower. My awesome team of 3rd grade teachers at Rockvale threw a double baby shower for me and Jahna, another 3rd grade teacher. I had so much fun! The faculty and staff at school were so generous. I received so many great things! The ladies that I teach with gave me both Bumpos that we had registered for. I was so excited to get these! The shower made everything seem more real.
I have to send a big thank you out to my team. I teach with the most amazing group of ladies. I am so blessed to be able to teach with them everyday.
Since I was in a room full of women, most of them moms, they insisted that I put my feet up while I opened presents. Needless to say, I am well taken care of during the day at school. :)

Today, I went in to see Dr. Riley. No ultrasound this time, but he did listen to the heartbeats. Everything is going really well. He was not able to tell me if the babies are still breech. I was really hoping to find that out, but I will see him again in 2 weeks for an ultrasound. We talked a lot about having a C-section. It is still a big possibility. Even if one baby flips and the other stays breech, he says a C-section will probably still be the safest way to go. After having some time to get used to the idea, I am completely at peace with whatever Dr. Riley decides. The real peace is knowing that our children are in God's hands and He ultimately knows what's best for them.

My New Best Friend

Last weekend, I met my new best friend. My Aunt Scarlett has a friend who has recently had twins (her twins are 10 months old). She turned out to be such an encouragement to me. She was open to any question I could think of. In a world where strangers who find out I'm having twins, look at me with wide eyes and say, "What are you going to do??", she told me that I could do it. She was so positive, which was just what I needed. She has offered her phone number and email and told me that I can contact her anytime. I'm so glad to have found her! Thank you for introducing me, Aunt Scarlett! :)
Here's a quick picture of the belly. It's getting bigger...I'm getting more uncomfortable...It's getting harder to get around. :) All signs that we are getting closer and closer to meeting our babies! I'm trying to be patient, but it's hard!
(Eric, I don't know what we were talking about but I seem to have confused you somehow.) :)

Our Beautiful Babies

Yesterday Kyle and I went in for our next ultrasound. We were so excited at the possibility of seeing our babies in 3D this time. The normal ultrasound pictures are wonderful, of course, but 3D is the closest thing to a real picture. It took awhile for her to get a good picture once she turned the 3D on, but once she was able to get to the best angle, there they were! It was the most amazing thing! I couldn't believe we were looking right into the faces of our babies. As I'm trying to describe it, there are really no words to express it. Here are some of the best shots. The first 2 are Baby A and the next 2 are Baby B.

Both babies are doing great! They both weigh the same (2 lbs. 1 oz). They gained a whole pound a piece! They are both breech right now, with their heads up and feet down. Dr. Riley said he thinks I will end up having a c-section because they are getting bigger and it is becoming less likely that they will turn. This was a big surprise for me. I knew that this was more of a possibility with twins, but it was the first time he had actually acted like it was a good possibility. That's not exactly how I pictured things happening. I think I just need some time to get used to the idea.
I go in again in 2 weeks to check heartbeats and we will have another ultrasound in 4 weeks. Thanks to everyone for your prayers! We are having so much fun! We think our babies are beautiful...but of course we are the parents. :)
